Car Parking

Please note we are unable to provide free car parking for competitors (or even for club members). The car parks adjacent to the rowing club are run by Chester-le-Street District Council, and are operated on a 'Pay and Display' basis. The Council have again kindly allowed us the use of the nearby coach park for the use of trailers and towing vehicles, but the only other vehicles which will be allowed free parking are those belonging to ARA officials, who will be issued with passes for the duration of the regatta. Car park wardens will be on their usual patrols, and are likely to issue sanctions to any other vehicle not displaying a valid ticket. A day's parking will only cost the price of a couple of drinks, however, and the cost can be kept down by car sharing where possible. Hopefully this will avoid a repeat of what happened at our inaugural regatta, when unfortunately a small number of competitors cars were sanctioned as they were on the water and unable to move their vehicles.
