Women's Squad

Our ladies squad, although relatively small, is perfectly formed! We are mainly, but not exclusively, made up of mothers of our junior members but would love to welcome some new faces to our squad.
We cater for all abilities and can accommodate all needs whether you wish to row competitively or just for fun and fitness.
Training
During
the summer months we aim to get out on the water five times a week,
dropping to two during the winter. There are other fitness sessions
available either using the clubs numerous ergo machines or by
attending our Hermitage School session on a Tuesday evening.
However there is no pressure to attend all sessions. You are free to do as much or as little as you like.
Racing
Over
the last couple of years we have entered several regattas including
Durham, Talkin Tarn and Hexham.
This season we are concentrating our efforts on competing in the Northern Rowing Sunday League. This takes place on the first Sunday of the month between April and September at various clubs throughout our region. It has been great opportunity to meet new people as well as experiencing the challenge of rowing on different stretches of river. Our crew “Mothership” is doing very well and we are all thoroughly enjoying the relaxed and friendly atmosphere these events offer.
As well as rowing as a ladies crew we have occasionally rowed with the mens squad to compete in mixed quads and eights, recently competing at The British Masters event in Nottingham.
Social
Chester-le-Street
is a very friendly club which welcomes new members with open arms. We
have various planned social events throughout the year as well as a
few unplanned but no less enjoyable ones too!
