Thinking of trying something new? Wanting to get fitter whilst enjoying an amazing setting? Why not learn to row with Chester-le-Street Amateur Rowing Club.

Whatever your age, ability or fitness CLSARC will have you out on the water in no time.

Juniors (11-17)
Sunday 28th April 12-2pm for six consecutive weeks

Adult (18 & over)
Sunday 28th April 2.30-4.30pm for six consecutive weeks 

The course will be delivered by a qualified volunteer coach from the club. Whether you are just wanting to enjoy the river wear alongside the Riverside stadium, meet new friends, get fitter or even if you’d like to eventually race in some of the regions local regattas or Sunday League events. Learning to row at Chester le Street will enable you to do all these things, in a fun family friendly club.

The course will include sessions on how to scull using correct British Rowing technique in coxed quads & smaller boats with assisted floatation and will take place at Chester-le-Street Amateur Rowing Club located my the Riverside Stadium. The second session will take place in Durham Universities rowing tank located at Maidencastle in Durham.

The cost of the course is £60 per person. All equipment is provided and also includes British Rowing registration, T-shirt & handbook.

All you need to bring is clothing you'll be able to move freely in (no jeans or baggy clothing), a bottle of water and yourselves!

There is a waiting list currently in place for new club members, however by completing this course you will gain the confidence, experience & knowledge to improve your chances of gaining membership if you choose to stay with us.
